TN Fire Commission Approved Hours: 2
This course is designed to provide basic fire ground skills necessary to operate and perform on the fire ground. The course covers sections of NFPA 1403: "Live Fire Training Evolutions" meeting the basic skill level for the student to participate in "live" firefighting training activities. 
This is a self-paced online hybrid course which requires the student to complete several practical exercises under the direction of their Company Officer or Training Division. Students will have one year to complete this course.
Prerequisite
The prerequisite for this course is the 16 hr Introduction to Fire Firefighting course or equivalent.

Course Syllabus

This course meets Tennessee Code 4-24-112, which became effective July 1, 2009 and requires members hired or accepted by a department after this date to complete a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of initial training that is equivalent with the course developed by the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy prior to responding on any incident.
